There is one thing in my closet that I will never EVER get rid of… my quilted down vest from JCrew. If there was ever a piece to splurge on it would be this vest. The black one I am wearing here is 3 years old and has been worn more times and in more ways than I can count, but somehow it is still in perfect condition. I have been seriously tough on this vest which only makes me love it more.
It is such a classic cold-weather piece and can be worn with everything! This week alone I wore it casual (styled here) to run errands on Sunday, I wore it to work yesterday with black pencil pants and a sweater, and I wore it after to the gym with a pair of leggings.
You really can’t go wrong with this piece. I love it so much I Ordered it in the cream last year and I am ordering it in navy this year. Another great thing about this vest is there is a slightly different version available at the factory store that is almost half the price. This is perfect if you aren’t ready to make a full commitment or if you aren’t sure how much you would wear it.
Do you have this vest? Comment let me know if you love it!
Planning a night out when it is cold is a serious headache. It is so fun to go grab drinks with friends or go to a party but trying to figure out what to wear can almost ruin the night. It is hard because you want to look sexy and stylish but you also don’t want to freeze. I mean come on who wants to wear a big bulky jacket or a big bulky sweater for a night out?
Of course, there is always those people who still manage to wear skimpy dresses and skirts – no judgment I use to too ;). Twisted back, off the shoulder, and backless sweaters are the perfect solution. They are perfect to throw on over a slip dress or with a pair of skinny jeans and otk boots. If you want to dress it up a little bit try it with black jeans and heels or heel booties.
You will look chic and stylish and your body with thank you! This look is perfect for a night out at the bars, date night, and everything in between. I have linked a few other sexy sweaters below.

Happy Wednesday friends!! Long time no see! I’m so sorry for being a little MIA between my KC trip, work, and being sick I haven’t had much time to write. I am happy to say I am back and planning a ton of new content for the next few weeks!
First up I wanted to show you my FAVORITE new cami for fall! This top is my new staple for fall. I love how soft and feminine it is. Not only because of the color and the material but also because of the little-added pop of lace on the top. It’s perfect to layer with velvet or paired with your favorite Moto jacket or leather jacket for a softer look.
The first look I styled it with truly encompasses my favorite trends. I have fallen in love with joggers, especially dresses up so these blue velvet joggers were a no-brainer. You’ve probably noticed I have a love for velvet too so I couldn’t be more obsessed. I loved them with this cami. Both looked so cute with a simple jean jacket.
This look is perfect for date night or thrown on with a more casual pair of shoes for running errands or going to a movie. I know I always mention sizing but I will say both run true to size. I am wearing a medium in both the tops and the bottom.
The second way I styled this look is a little edgier than the first look. I paired this soft cami with a little harsher distressed black jeans and my favorite moto jacket by Free People. It is hard to see but it’s is a gorgeous velvet and has the cutest lace up tdetails on the sleeves and on the back.
I have been living in this outfit since I bought it in Kansas City. It is perfect for all occasions and is so easy to throw on. I love that it makes me look put together yet is fun! The blue cami seemed to be the perfect thing to tie the whole look together.
That’s it for today friends! My KC guide will be up in the morning! So glad you all weren’t in love with the idea as I was!
Thank you all so much for reading!
It’s Thursday! You know what that means, one of my personal favorite post topics – Ways to Wear. Today I am talking about blazers! Blazers (especially boyfriend blazers) are such a fun and hot trend right now. They can also be tricky to find and even trickier to wear.
One of my FAVORITE color trends in 2017 has been the pinks and blushes. These colors are so easy to wear and look AMAZING with fall neutrals. It is soft and feminine but can be layered to give you whatever look you are going for.
Happy Monday friends!
So I was super MIA over the week & weekend and I am so sorry! I had a couple super fun designer events at work this week which occupied a lot of my mind. I did get to meet the designers of Sloane Street jewelry and let me just tell you those ladies are AMAZING! If you haven’t taken a look at their stuff be sure to! I also had a fun work event on Saturday. It took the whole day which meant I wasn’t going to get much time with Russ. We decided to have a super laid back phone free night on Friday and it turned out to be much needed. Yesterday, I went to watch him at his dirt bike race and it was so fun! Needless to say, it has been a crazy busy last few days.
I wanted to take a quick second to show you this deep red vest. Y’all I have always been a huge red fan so the fact that it is a Fall 2017 “IT” color is amazing! I know I’ve said it three or four times this fall but I can’t get enough of vests, especially the long ones. This one, in particular, struck me not only because of the color but the cut. I love that the small cap sleeve makes it work appropriate yet it looks great with distressed jeans. It has also inspired me to hunt down more pieces in this color.
I will be headed to Kansas City this weekend for a fun birthday getaway and I am needing food and shopping recommendations so if you have any please comment below! I have a huge “wish list” of items to look for since we don’t have a Nordstrom in OKC. I am originally from Kansas but haven’t been shopping there in five or six years so please please send me all the stores!! Also if you live in KC I would love to meet you!!
I hope you all have a great (and quick) week! Thanks for reading!
