This summer flew by! Russ and I were realizing we haven’t taken the time to do any of our usual phone free summer traditions. We love seeing movies, going to drive ins, and just spending time together outdoors. Honestly, we have gotten so caught up in the motions that we haven’t made time for those things. When we are together, so much of our time is spent on our phones.
We decided together to take the Wente Vinyard’s 21 Day Make Time Pledge. We vowed to have one special phone free date night each weekend. It could be going to our favorite coffee shop, finding a new local restaurant, or like this weekends date night – a movie night under the stars.
I think preparing for this date night may have been even more fun than the date night itself. We scoured OKC for a cute picnic basket, a good picnic blanket, and all of the movie night essentials.
We went to one of our favorite spots in our town, Oak Tree Golf Club, to watch our movie. They have a beautiful lawn full of oak trees and it is just far enough away from the lights of the city to really see the stars. We watched Netflix, drank our favorite white wine, and just enjoyed laughing and talking without the distractions.
A little about Wente, it has become one of my favorite brands for good wine. Not only is there selection amazing, I also love their story. Did you know that Wente Vineyards is the country’s oldest, continuously operated family-owned winery, founded in 1883? I love that they take their family values into everything they do and they support. Just like the Make Time Pledge. They are also California certified as sustainable and practices this in both their vineyards and their community. They are quickly becoming one of my go-to labels, and bonus our family love it to!
