What I have always loved about fashion is that it doesn’t have an age requirement. There are kids I see who are more fashionable than I could ever hope to be and women in the fashion industry who are older who still have a sense of adventure in their fashion.
People ask me all the time how I got into fashion. For those of you who don’t know I was always on the tomboy end of my friends. Don’t get me wrong I was still girlier than some but I played rough sports, didn’t really like doing my hair or makeup, and definitely was unladylike at times. The one thing was however, I always loved clothes. I prided myself on having the best outfits even if they sat in my closet as a threw on jeans and a t-shirt haha.
The answer to how I got into fashion is my mom. When I was younger, my mom would wait for me and the bus. Every time I got on, the bus driver would stop me and admire my mom’s outfit and talk about her great style.
My mom has always had amazing style, she knows how to dress her body, isn’t afraid of colors and patterns, and didn’t let being a ‘mom’ hinder her from loving fashion. I have always admired this about her and it has carried through me to this day.
So onto this outfit. My mom and I love color and patterns and beach looks so when I discovered Caite, a brand that believes in “a free spirit, lover of art, travel, and adventure, and a show stopper when entering a room” and has a beachy boho vibe, I knew I wanted to get my mom involved. Their clothes truly speak to our personalities, are so well made, and are great regardless of your age or your size.
We had so much fun styling these outfits from Caite, to show that while age may change the way you style a piece, you should never lose your sense of adventure when it comes to fashion.
Thank you to Caite for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own, I will only share with you guys things I genuinely love!
