This is a post I have thought about doing for a long time because I always get at least one “what bra did you wear with that” question when I post anything with a plunging neckline or that is backless. It can also be tough because different methods work better for different people. If you are bustier like I am (hello 34DD), you will definitely want to tune into this post. I will be sharing not only the 6 bras you need but when you should wear them.
*Note: Just click on the image of the bra you want to shop.
Bra #1: The Strapless Bra
These are the two I wear & recommend 100%. They are a little pricey but worth every dollar and hold up wash after wash
I wear strapless bras ALL the time. I hate having my straps show so I wear this with everything.
When to Wear: Strapless tops, strapless dresses, camis with thin straps, off the shoulder or slouch shoulder tops and occasionally tees if you are worried about an awkward strapline in the back.
Bra #2: The Supportive Bra With Straps / Pushup
These are the ones I recommend and always go back to!
I don’t personally wear bras that have extra padding but I am a firm believer that everyone needs a great supportive bra that they can wear under any short sleeve or long sleeve top that is comfortable. If you prefer pushup, girl you go for it!
When to Wear: Tshirts, Blouses that have thick straps or sleeves, dresses with thick straps or sleeves, under sweatshirts or form-fitting tops.
Bra #3: The Sticky Bra
This bra has saved my life in more than one circumstance. I know some people have trouble with them coming off but I have never had this issue.
When to Wear: Backless Tops, Backless Dresses/rompers, Deep plunging V Camis, tanks, or tops, form-fitting items where you want to avoid bra lines.
Bra #4: Deep Plunge Bra
In the summer & spring, I swear by this bra and the sticky bra above. They are lifesavers and can make your outfit way more flattering than having a bulky bra or bra straps cramping your style. This one is perfect with those pieces that go a little to low.
When to Wear: Rompers, Dresses, Tops, or tees with deep Vs, button-up tops if you don’t plan to button it all the way.
Bra #5: Sports Bra
Hello! Who doesn’t need a good sports bra, not just for working out but for comfort and running around town or laying on the couch.
When to Wear: When Exercising, With T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Activewear, When extream support and compression is needed.
Bra #6: Bralette
I love Bralettes, I am always wearing them around the house and even out to add a cute feminine element to my outfit.
When to Wear: With off the shoulder sweaters, tees, and dresses, anything with an open back, tanks, and camis, under anything when you aren’t wanting/needing the support of wires.
