OKC is booming! I swear every weekend there is a new (and delicious) restaurant opening. One of my favorite places to visit in OKC though is the Midtown district. It is full of cute shops, fun bars, and great restaurants. It is the perfect little downtown escape for date night. Today’s post talks a little bit about my favorite spots in midtown and you know I had to throw this super easy date night outfit in the mix.
First this outfit, I have been an obsession over these Caslon tie front tees – so much so that I now own it in 3 colors. They are also currently on sale for $14. These white jeans have been a go-to since I got them. They are high waisted and flattering even after I eat my weight in Midtown food. What is the best way to get away with jeans and a tee to dinner? Throw on some cute accessories and a pair of strappy sandal heels and you are good to go!
Now its time to talk about the real purpose of this post – exploring Midtown OKC for date night.
Louis Bar & Grill – Louis has great brunch on the weekends complete with a great patio and buckets of mimosas
Waffle Champion – Waffle Champion has tons of unique flavors of waffles – be prepared for a sugar coma if you get certain ones. I will warn you though they can get a crazy line in the mornings so it is often best to grab it to go.
Stella – This is a cute little italian bistro and pizzaria right next to 1492 (it is also where these pics were taken). They have a super cute and quaint outdoor patio and a great brunch menu.
Lunch & Dinner:
1492 New World Latin Cuisine – This is one of my FAVORITE Mexican restaurants in the city. My mom and I go here all the time because the salsa is amazing, the food is great, but there is something about their queso that keeps me coming back!
Louis Bar & Grill – I have always loved Louis. There are several spreads across the Oklahoma City metro but the midtown one has such a fun atmosphere. They also have a great variety of food and I haven’t found one thing on their menu I haven’t liked.
Stella – Stella also has great food on their lunch & dinner menu. It even won the Diners’ choice award this year. It can be a little pricey compared to some of the other places to grab a bit in midtown but it’s a great date night spot.
Packard – Packards is great if you are looking for something unique and different. It truly is a one of a kind eatery in OKC. They put their own unique spin on classic American food not mention they have awesome desserts and a cool rooftop patio.
Snack, Drinks, & Fun
Midtown is known for their fun bars, patios, and even games. Here are a few of my favorite places in Midtown on the weekends.
Fassler Hall: This is a great place to grab a snack and a pair of bowling shoes for an old fashion, handwritten, bowling experience. They have tons of unique beers on tap in the upstairs restaurant and bar and on most weekend nights you can hear live music on their stage. They also have ping pong and other table type games on their outdoor deck.
Kongs Tavern: If you have ever been to Dallas or Austin yo have probably visited a Kung Fu or a bar that has arcade/bar games. For OKCers that is Kongs. They have a fun patio to watch sports on but the inside is where the real fun is. They have ski ball, arcade games, basketball, and so much more.
Bleu Garten: This is one of Russell and I’s favorite places to go. It is a little fenced in beer garten and food truck park with new food truck every day. We have so much fun hanging out and watching football in the fall and meeting our friends there in summer.
