Good Morning Everyone! I have been working non-stop on my Pensacola, FL travel guide but there is so much I am going to break it up into two posts. For this first one, I will be dishing on all of the places to eat, stay, drink, shop, and have fun in Pensacola. This little corner of paradise is perfect for families but also has a ton of great places for couples looking to get away.
Peg Leg Pete’s
This place has great food and a very fun atmosphere. They also have a kids play area down below that has a smaller menu but still has all of their favorites in seafood.
I had the best fried fish sandwich I have ever had. Not only are their main dishes good they also give you homemade biscuits rolled in cinnamon sugar and honey to dip it in. They were AMAZING! The restaurant is right on the beach, has a kids play area, and is next door to fun bars and a putt-putt course.
This restaurant is a little more upscale but the price is about the same as the other restaurant. Rather than having a lot of fried foods on the menu they offer a lot of other dishes as well. Their shrimp pasta was divine and we got to watch the sunset over the bay. It was beautiful.
You know I couldn’t go a week without Mexican food and we stumbled across (I’m convinced) the best Mexican restaurant in Florida. They had a chorizo queso that was to die for. The prices were great and they had $2 margaritas!
This is a great lunch spot with a fun patio a view overlooking boats in the bay. They had a ton of fresh seafood that had a lot of flavors. This was such a fun lunch spot with great drink specials.
This place is so fun! There are tons of tables right in the sand. It is what you would think of as a beach bar and grill. They had awesome drinks, good food, and live music after 6:00!
Shopping & Fun
Islanders Coastal Outfitters
Salty Beach Outfitters
Bamboo Willies (Fun Bar & New Orleans Style Frozen drinks
Walking On the Pier (You will see sharks, stingrays, and if you are lucky dolphins – don’t worry they don’t come up past the pier and the sharks are harmless! – In May, you will also see tons of turtles)
If you are planning a trip to Florida soon be sure to check out Pensacola! It is beautiful but beyond that, you will see so many amazing pieces of the ocean while you are there. I think of it as one of Florida’s best-kept secrets. It is one of the few places that is not overrun with tourists but instead a tropical getaway.
