Hi everyone & Happy 2018! After a heartbreaking start to 2018 brought on by my Sooners losing in double overtime, I am finally ready to start bringing in the good. Yesterday started my healthy eating and regular gym schedule (thanks to R’s help). I realized that although I love working out, I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted in part because my eating habits are…well….. not so great.
Why am I telling you this on an outfit post?
I came to the realization that I loved cropped sweaters & tight tops + dresses but I wasn’t sure I felt confident enough to ever actually wear them outside of my house. My first real try at wearing a cropped sweater outside was with my favorite high waisted midi skirt from this post. I realized that if I covered up my hips I felt a lot more confident in cropped styles.
My second attempt was in my favorite gym look featuring the best fleece cropped sweatshirt. I loved wearing this cozy cropped sweatshirt so much that I’ve worn it almost every day since I got it. I was able to wear it with high waisted leggings and felt confident, but again, the areas I see as a problem I had covered.
Then Russell’s sweet sister picked me out this adorable cropped chenille sweater for Christmas. I immediately loved it – mostly because it is extremely soft – but I also really liked the color and style. I knew I could feel confident wearing it if I wore the right jeans or the right leggings but I really wanted to take a look at my body and feel 100% confident. So I threw on my favorite pair of midrise jeans and decided to go for it. Having more of my stomach show was a little outside of my comfort zone but I really did feel happy and good in this outfit. My goal is to feel better in not only this style but in everything I wear. So with that realization, I set the goal to eat healthily, drink mainly water, and exercise regularly.
This year, I really hope to break out of my comfort zone with outfits, I want to feel great in tight bodycon dresses, in body suites, and most of all in my favorite swimsuits for the summer.
With that being said I hope to have you guys help me stay accountable so I will be posting on health and fitness quite a bit more. I really love working out and feeling good so I hope that I can keep this momentum going in 2018! What are your health and fashion goals?
