As you all have probably guessed, this post is a little out of the norm for me. Recently, I have undergone some HUGE life changes that I promised to share with you. Here it is!
A couple of weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to break further into the fashion and jewelry industry as a full time job! I have always worked full time while blogging, but now I have the opportunity to do it in a whole new way.I will now be running digital marketing for one of the most well known jewelry companies in Oklahoma.
Although this is such an exciting change and a chance to really use my degree and my marketing skills, I had to say some really hard goodbyes at my first “big girl” job. I worked with some of the best people I have ever met and having to say goodbye to them was really hard.
God has a funny way of showing up and putting a message in your path when you least expect it. Last Sunday, I went to church with my family. The message was on Isaiah 43: 18-19. To be honest, this was the first time I had heard this verse, but it was like the message was just for me. We talked about the fact that the past is important because it usually gets us to a point of change and new beginnings. But, the verse says to forget the past. We talked about the importance of forgetting the past so you can fully live in the present. If you live in the present, Jesus will present new things and new opportunities to you and maybe you will see them.
It got me thinking how many times in my life I have missed out on an opportunity because I was unable, to as the verse puts it, “perceive it”. So many things get in our way from taking those new opportunities he presents us. Here I was, days away from starting a new job (a job I knew I would LOVE) and I realized that was what God was doing, he put this new path in front of me and I was almost to scared to take it.
I just want to encourage you to really take a step back and look for those new opportunities and exciting things that he is constantly putting in front of us. I can’t wait to continue sharing this journey with you and to keep looking ahead. Have a great week friends!
